Hope is Alive

On June 2, 2019 – Cancer Survivors Day – Melanoma Canada captured the stories of individuals whose lives have been changed by melanoma. Each journey is unique; diagnoses, treatment plans, outcomes all vary, and yet everyone needs a support system. A network. With this video, we want melanoma patients – their caregivers, relatives and friends – to know Melanoma Canada is here and we have a message of hope.

Hope is Alive

Held in two major Canadian cities during May is Melanoma Month, participants had a UV image taken of their skin to demonstrate the way the sun’s ultraviolet rays have impacted them and juxtapose it against the powerful protection that sunscreen provides. Melanoma survivors and physicians were on-site communicating the importance of sun safety and self detection. The You Missed a Spot initiative was created by the Sun Safety Council (SSC), a national advisory committee lead by the Melanoma Canada, composed of industry leaders and organisations that have an interest in the development, promotion and advancement of sun safety awareness.
