3 WAYS TO BLOCK THE RAYS

It’s important to look after your skin all year long and limit your exposure to damaging UV rays. Protect yourself from sunburns and skin cancer by practicing 3 ways to block the Rays!

DID YOU KNOW:

85% of skin cancers are caused by UV radiation

Here are 3 Ways to Block the Rays to help Prevent Skin Cancer

iconApply SPF 50+ Sunscreen like Aveeno® Sensitive Skin Sunscreen, every 2 hours

iconCover Up: Wear clothing with UVA and UVB sun protection. Like Columbia Omni-Shade® Apparel.

iconSeek Shade between peak UV hours (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) between the months of March and October.

  • UVA & UVB Rays: Sunlight consists of two types of harmful rays. UVA RAYS go deep intothe skin and cause premature skin AGING and wrinkling. UVB RAYS BURN the surface layers of the skin and play a key role in the development of skin cancer.
  • UV Rays and Cloudy Days: Cloudy days are not risk-free. Up to 80% of the sun’s rays can penetrate clouds, fog and haze.
  • Dock side or sea side: Water can reflect and scatter UV rays, increasing your UV exposure by 25%
