Melanoma Network of Canada announces three new board members

OAKVILLE, Ontario – May 4, 2017 – The Melanoma Network of Canada announces the appointment of four members to the Board of Directors for 2017 at quarterly meeting.

Joining the board are Maura Cowan, Joseph Mele and Stephanie Campbell.

“Board members are carefully selected for their backgrounds in marketing, fundraising and healthcare” says Annette Cyr Founder and Chair of the Board of the Melanoma Network of Canada. “we look forward to adding their insight and expertise to the expanding organization”

Maura Cowan is Marketing Director at Unilever Canada where she manages the Refreshment and Home Care businesses. Maura attended Cornell University for both her undergraduate and MBA.Maura has had a passion for marketing throughout her 20 year career. She began her career in marketing consulting in the US and then moved onto work at Unilever and SABMiller. She has been at Unilever Canada for the last eight years in a range of marketing leadership roles. Maura has demonstrated success growing brands, developing brand and communication strategies, and creating innovation and integrated marketing campaigns.

Joseph is a classically trained CPG marketer, who is inspired by the idea that brands can become bigger than the simple offerings of a product. Throughout his career, he has grown businesses by using consumer insights to nurture an emotional connection between people, and the brands they discover.

“Consumers are always changing,” said Board Member, Joseph Mele “marketing objectives for a brand are always the same: create awareness and build trust.”

Stephanie has extensive experience in product and brand management, as well as an expertise in organization effectiveness and executive alignment. She has enjoyed working in a variety of industries including, publishing, sports & entertainment and now health & wellness. In her current role as Director of Product at Medcan she oversees the operations and growth of a variety of Health and Wellness services. Prior to joining Medcan she spent six years working in consulting at Deloitte. Stephanie has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, and a BComm from Queen’s University.
